The Castelli Flanders 2 base layer is designed for cyclists who also get on their bikes on cold days. With a soft fleece lining and a medium-height collar, this long-sleeved undershirt offers warmth and comfort. Ideal as a first layer under a winter jacket for high-intensity cycling in low temperatures.
Material and fit
The Flanders 2 base layer is made of SottoZero fleece fabric, a multi-denier material that feels soft to the skin and fits snugly without being tight. Thanks to its insulating properties, it retains your body heat and wicks away moisture quickly. With a snug but not tight fit, the base layer is suitable for your rides in cold to very cold conditions.
Functional details
The mid-high collar effectively protects the neck from cold and drafts. Mesh is incorporated under the arms to provide extra ventilation in areas where moisture tends to build up quickly. The flat Merrow stitching feels smooth and prevents pressure points under other layers. As the design focuses entirely on comfort and warmth, this base layer combines well with most jackets or jerseys in winter.
